This book focuses on the Kirial de esta Yglesia de Baclayon, dated 1826, which contains Mass cycle compositions used in the liturgical service of the Roman Catholic Church. Cantoral music culture forms part of an important tradition of liturgical music that developed in Hispanized communities all over the archipelago. There are other extant cantorales found in various repositories in different parts of the country, but it is in Bohol that one can find a complete collection that is intact and unadulterated.
