Transformative Theological Ethics: East Asian Contexts The importance of context in theological ethics provides the cornerstone of this anthology. Most essays here were written for the 2007 forum organized by Loyola School of Theology in Manila in accordance with its mandate from the Jesuit Conference of East Asia and Oceania (now known as the Jesuit Conference of Asia Pacific) to be “more Asian in context, methodology and ethos.” The essays in Part I illustrate how cultural realities help or hinder the promotion of moral good. Putting context at the center of theological ethics calls for new methodological approaches, which Part II in the anthology addresses. Part III concentrates on ethical issues in education, while Part IV articulates conditions necessary for transformative ethics to develop and flourish. Copyright 2010. 6x9 inches. 264 pages.
